EU envoy concludes four-year mission, departs Azerbaijan

Peter Michalko, the European Union’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, has officially concluded his diplomatic service and departed the country, the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan announced.

The diplomat departed from Azerbaijan on the morning of August 22, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

The delegation expressed gratitude for his dedication and contributions throughout his four-year mission.

In a farewell message posted on Facebook, the EU Delegation extended their best wishes to Ambassador Michalko and his wife, Miroslava Michalková, for their future endeavors, noting that they will be deeply missed in Azerbaijan.

“We thank for his dedication and contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between the EU and Azerbaijan and wish him and Mrs. Miroslava Michalková every success in their future endeavours. They will be truly missed in Azerbaijan,” the EU Delegation wrote.
