Azerbaijan to repatriate citizen killed in Kyiv drone attack

Azerbaijan will repatriate the body of a citizen killed in a drone attack on Kyiv, the country’s Foreign Ministry has said.

“A citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Abbas Abbasov, born in 1978, was killed as a result of a drone attack on the city of Kyiv at around 10:00 p.m. yesterday,” Aykhan Hajizada, head of the press service department of Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, said in response to an APA inquiry.

The Azerbaijani embassy in Ukraine is providing consular assistance to arrange the repatriation of Abbasov’s body, Hajizada said.

Azerbaijani citizen Abbas Abbasov, 48, was killed in a drone attack on the Stolichny Central Agricultural Market on the outskirts of Kyiv.

Several other Azerbaijani citizens were also injured in the attack, with their identities being established.
