Driver injured as car hits anti-tank mine in Azerbaijan’s Shusha district

A car hit an anti-tank mine in the village of Jamillar in Azerbaijan’s Shusha District, injuring the driver, according to a joint statement by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Prosecutor General’s Office and Azerbaijan’s National Mine Action Agency (ANAMA).

The car, driven by Baku resident Bakhtiyar Bayramov, born in 1979, struck an anti-tank mine in an uncleared area along the former line of contact, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

Bayramov sustained injuries of varying severity in the explosion. The Shusha District Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the incident.

The agencies once again urged citizens to follow safety rules, pay attention to mine hazard signs, avoid touching suspicious objects and refrain from entering restricted areas.
