Leyla Aliyeva attends opening of Azerbaijani Carpet Exhibition at Vatican

The Vatican hosted the opening of an exhibition of Azerbaijani carpets dedicated to Judaism, Christianity and Islam, with Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, and Alena Aliyeva in attendance.

In her speech, Secretary-General of the Governorate of Vatican City State Raffaella Petrini said culture and memory are the main pillars of peace, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

“The exhibition is intended to create an opportunity for dialogue between representatives of different religions, peoples, cultures and traditions. It is also a tribute to Azerbaijan, where the roots of carpet weaving are deeply connected with the country’s traditions. The carpets presented here today are not only valuable examples created by highly skilled craftsmen, but also an embodiment of identity and humanity,” she noted.
