KASIRGA strike UAV unveiled at ADEX 2026 in Baku VIDEO

The KASIRGA vertical takeoff and landing strike unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), developed by Azerbaijani company Bayraktar Teknoloji, a subsidiary of Turkish defence firm BAYKAR, has been unveiled for the first time at the ADEX 2026 exhibition in Baku.

The UAV has a maximum takeoff weight of 33 kilograms and does not require a runway because of its vertical takeoff and landing capability. Its control system combines autonomous flight, visual positioning and sensor data fusion, Turkish defence industry website SavunmaSanayiST.com reports.

KASIRGA has an operational range of 60–90 kilometres, a maximum speed of 222 km/h and a wingspan of 1.7 metres.

In strike mode, the UAV identifies a target and dives toward it, using a 5-kg warhead to destroy the target.

The UAV can also operate in reconnaissance and surveillance mode, using an electro-optical camera to gather information before returning to its base.

According to the report, the combination of strike and reconnaissance capabilities makes KASIRGA more versatile than conventional disposable strike drones.
