Baku, Tehran keen to deepen ties through transport connectivity

Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, who is on an official visit to Iran, has met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss the further development of bilateral relations.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Baku and Tehran, with particular attention to transport connectivity and regional corridors, IRIB reports.

“The development of land, air and railway routes creates a foundation for strengthening relations between Tehran and Baku,” the report said.

The sides also emphasized the importance of expanding transport and corridor links and making more effective use of existing opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation.

The meeting came a day after the co-chairs of the Azerbaijan-Iran Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation convened as part of the Azerbaijani delegation’s visit to Iran, led by Mustafayev.
