Envoy: Azerbaijan hopes for stronger ties with France under new ambassador
Azerbaijani Ambassador to France Leyla Abdullayeva has congratulated Sophie Lagoutte on her appointment as France’s new ambassador to Azerbaijan, expressing optimism about the future of bilateral relations.
According to Caliber.Az, Abdullayeva, writing on her social media account, said she hoped their joint efforts would strengthen ties between Baku and Paris.

“I sincerely congratulate you, dear colleague Sophie Lagoutte. I hope our collaboration will contribute to the development of relations between Azerbaijan and France,” she wrote.
France has named Sophie Lagoutte as its new ambassador to Azerbaijan, the French embassy in Baku confirmed on August 20.
Lagoutte, who succeeds Anne Boillon, said she looked forward to strengthening Franco-Azerbaijani ties in a strategically important region for both France and the European Union.
