Azerbaijan, Bangladesh prepare for reciprocal opening of embassies — envoy
Azerbaijan and Bangladesh are moving forward with plans to open embassies in each other’s capitals, said Bangladeshi Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Georgia, and Turkmenistan, Amanul Haq.
According to Haq, the consultation phase on bilateral relations between the two countries has been completed, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
"We have concluded discussions on political, economic, trade, financial, and diplomatic matters. The negotiations involved the deputy foreign ministers of both Bangladesh and Azerbaijan," he said.
The diplomat added that agreements have been signed across the areas discussed:
"Following these discussions, we must begin implementing these agreements. I hope these processes will move forward soon, including the reciprocal opening of embassies in our countries," Haq noted.
Azerbaijan and Bangladesh established diplomatic relations shortly after Azerbaijan’s independence in the early 1990s. Since then, the two countries have maintained friendly ties, cooperating in political, economic, trade, and cultural spheres.
