CIS prosecutors’ executive secretary proposes unified centre to combat crime Video
Yuri Zhdanov, Executive Secretary of the Coordinating Council of CIS Prosecutors, has proposed the creation of a single centre to combat crime across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).
Zhdanov made the suggestion during an international conference in Lachin titled “National Leader Heydar Aliyev – Architect of Azerbaijan’s Constitution,” Caliber.Az reports.
Speaking at the event, he highlighted that in today’s era, societies and prosecutorial authorities face pressing challenges, including the illegal drug trade, smuggling, and property rights violations. “Prosecutors are on the front line in addressing these dangerous threats,” he said.
He also stressed the importance of joint efforts to tackle cybercrime. “It is essential to unite our efforts to share successful experiences and information in combating cybercrime, as well as to enhance the professional skills of prosecutors across the CIS,” Zhdanov added.
