Iraq's Islamic Resistance attacks three US bases in Iraq, Syria
Three American bases in Iraq and Syria have come under massive missile and drone fire.
Members of the Shiite Iraqi Islamic Resistance movement claimed responsibility for the attack. Information about casualties and damage is not provided, Al-Mayadeen TV channel reports.
As the TV channel clarifies, among the facilities that came under fire are the American military base Kharab al-Jail in northeastern Syria, a base at Erbil International Airport and a base at the Koniko field in the Syrian province of Deir ez-Zor.
A statement from the Islamic Resistance of Iraq notes that attacks on US bases in the region are a response to Washington's policies.
Attacks on US bases in Syria and Iraq have increased amid the war between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, which began on October 7, 2023.
Last December, the Iraqi Islamic Resistance shelled two US bases in Syria. On January 11, the movement struck an American base located near the Al-Jebbis oil field. According to the Pentagon, since the end of October 2023, US bases in Iraq and Syria have been attacked 130 times.
