Leading Russian news agency TASS has published material in its bulletin about the book "The Personality Factor" dedicated to the Victory in Patriotic War, President Ilham Aliyev, and his role in history.

According to Caliber.Az, the publication is a joint project of the Executive Power of Baku and the Institute of History of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).

"This is the first attempt to summarize the reasons for Azerbaijan's defeat in the first Karabakh war, to analyze how the country was preparing to de-occupy the Azerbaijani territories, create a corresponding legal framework to resolve the Karabakh problem, conduct economic reforms, and build a modern army," head of the Baku Executive Power, project manager and author of the introduction to the book Eldar Azizov told the TASS correspondent.

The processes are presented taking into account the personality factor (hence the title of the book) of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, who, according to the authors of the project, managed to mobilize all the resources of the country to solve the most important national task.

The special significance of the book, the authors believe, is that the events are narrated by the participants themselves: the course of military operations is described by Zakir Hasanov, Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan, and the diplomatic aspect is presented by Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, economic development is analysed by scientists and economists. In addition, it contains extensive information on the comprehensive reconstruction work that is being carried out in the territories that have come under Baku's control, the construction of highways and railways, airports, power plants, social facilities, and residential complexes. The book talks of the huge works carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and its head, First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva to restore the cultural heritage.

"The book has been written without emotions and contains only facts, statistical data, and analysis of events," Eldar Azizov, who is a historian by education, added.

According to TASS, versions of the book in Azerbaijani and Russian languages have already been published, and now versions in Turkish and English are being prepared for printing. The book aroused great interest among experts on the post-Soviet space who closely followed the events in Karabakh. The authors do not exclude the possibility that the book could be used as a textbook in the future.
