Erdogan says Türkiye, Armenia may fully normalize relations

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Türkiye does not put forward preconditions for the normalization of relations with Armenia.

Erdogan made the remarks at a press conference that was held as part of the European Political summit in Prague on October 6, according to Anadolu Agency.

“As soon as Armenia concludes a peace agreement with Azerbaijan, it will not have any problems with us. Ankara is striving for the soonest warming of relations between Türkiye, Azerbaijan and Armenia and the settlement of disagreements between the parties,” the president noted.

The head of state added that Türkiye and Armenia will keep in contact at the level of special representatives.

Erdogan hopes that Türkiye and Armenia could achieve full normalisation of relations based on the principle of good neighbourliness in the region.
