Mutual assistance between Türkiye and South Korea shows that the two countries are linked by close fraternal ties.
According to Anadolu, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol said this at a meeting with employees of the Korean Disaster Relief Team (KDRT), who participated in the aftermath of earthquakes in Türkiye .
"The spirit of solidarity shown in helping Türkiye has once again demonstrated that Korea and Türkiye are true friends who help each other in difficult times," he said.
According to him, they honorably fulfilled their mission against the backdrop of ongoing aftershocks and abnormal cold weather.
Yoon Suk Yeol assured that South Korea is ready to make a contribution to the reconstruction and restoration of the areas affected by the earthquake. In particular, he said that the government and the private sector of South Korea will allocate more than $10 million to participate in projects for the construction of temporary housing in the region.
The President added that his country will provide Türkiye with 250 modular houses.
After the earthquakes in the southeast of Türkiye , a South Korean team of 121 people arrived in the country. Rescuers from Korea managed to rescue 8 residents of the southern province of Hatay from the rubble. The bodies of 19 victims of the disaster have also been recovered.
