Zaur Mikayilov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan State Water Reserves Agency, briefed the head of state on the completed work, Caliber.Az reports citing AZERTAC.

The Kondalanchay-1 reservoir, located along the Kondalanchay River in Fuzuli district, with a total water capacity of 3.9 million cubic meters (usable volume of 3.6 million cubic meters) and a height of 14 meters, was commissioned in 1962. Comprehensive repair and restoration works were carried out on this reservoir as part of land reclamation and irrigation efforts in the liberated territories.

The Kondalanchay-2 reservoir, operational since 1951, has a total water capacity of 2.1 million cubic meters (usable volume of 1.6 million cubic meters) and a height of 23.35 meters. Comprehensive repair and restoration works were carried out on this reservoir as part of land reclamation and irrigation efforts in the liberated territories.

The Ashaghi Kondalanchay reservoir, operational since 1980, has a total water capacity of 9.5 million cubic meters (usable volume of 9 million cubic meters) and a height of 25 meters.

The president launched the Kondalanchay water reservoir complex.

President Ilham Aliyev then inspected the ongoing construction of the Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha highway and participated in the opening of the first tunnel on this road.

Chairman of the Board of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads Saleh Mammadov briefed the head of state on the progress of construction. The existing road has a length of 101 kilometers, while the new road is 81.7 kilometers long, representing a reduction of 19.3 kilometers. This road has 4 to 6 lanes. The construction involves 194 culverts of varying diameters, 38 underground passages, 11 bridges, 7 tunnels, and 9 viaducts. The total lengths are 1,557 meters for bridges, 1,965 meters for viaducts, and approximately 6,450 meters for tunnels in one direction.

Out of the seven planned tunnels, with a combined total length of 12.7 kilometers (for both directions), drilling work has already been completed on six tunnels. The Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha highway starts from the Hajigabul-Horadiz-Aghband-Zangazur corridor highway, connecting the liberated districts of Fuzuli, Khojavand, Khojaly, and Shusha.

President Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the first tunnel, which has a total length of 6,747 meters.

The Azerbaijani president posed for photographs together with the workers.

Afterward, the president inspected the entrance and exit sections of the fourth tunnel on the Ahmadbayli-Fuzuli-Shusha highway.

The left side of this tunnel, located at the 73.7-kilometer mark, is 679.8 meters long, while the right side is 680.6 meters long. Drilling has been completed, and the interior works are underway.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the third residential complex to be built in Shusha.

Special Representative of the President in Shusha district Aydin Karimov briefed the head of state and the First Lady about the new residential complex.

Anar Alakbarov, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, provided information to the head of state and the First Lady about the restoration process.

The restoration project of the Chol Gala Mosque, another historical monument in Shusha, is overseen by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and commenced in 2023 with support from PASHA Holding.

The Chol Gala Mosque was one of the 17 mosques operating in Shusha during the 19th century. Located on Gasim bay Zakir Street in the Chol Gala quarter, part of the upper quarters of Shusha, this historic monument was constructed in the 19th century by Karbalayi Safikhan Garabaghi, adhering to Islamic architectural principles.

The Chol Gala Mosque was destroyed and looted by Armenians following the occupation of the city of Shusha.

Adjacent to the Chol Gala Mosque is the Chol Gala Spring, dating back to the 19th century.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also inspected the ongoing restoration work at the Uzeyir Hajibeyli House Museum in Shusha.

The head of state was briefed on the progress of the restoration project.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation is continuing the restoration work at the Uzeyir Hajibayli House Museum in Shusha. The house was originally built in the 19th century and functioned as a house museum from 1959 until Shusha's occupation. Only 136 out of 1,700 exhibits related to the life and work of the famous composer survived the occupation; the rest were destroyed by Armenian forces.

Once the restoration work, which began in 2022, is completed, the museum will feature an exhibition.

The President and the First Lady were briefed on the details on the restoration process.

The restoration project is led by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation with support from PAŞA Holding. The project involves experts from Austria, Italy, Latvia, and Türkiye. The Ashaghi Govhar Agha Mosque, designed by Karbalayi Safikhan Garabaghi in the 19th century, was the first mosque in Shusha, built at the request of Govhar Agha, daughter of Ibrahim Khan. During the occupation of Shusha, the mosque suffered significant damage due to Armenian vandalism, including severe harm to the building and its minarets from Armenian armored vehicles' fire.

Local and international experts carried out assessments and created design plans based on the mosque's existing condition. The minarets have been restored, roof and floor coverings have been replaced, and other repair works are ongoing. The restoration also extends to the madrasa section of the mosque.

President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva then participated in the opening of the Mamayi Mosque in Shusha following its restoration.
