Pakistani president, Azerbaijani minister discuss cooperation & COP29 plans

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari welcomed Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and President of COP29 Mukhtar Babayev during their meeting.

President Zardari congratulated Azerbaijan on its chairmanship at COP29 and expressed optimism that the upcoming session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change will address the climate-related financial needs of developing nations, as reported by Azertac.

President Zardari underscored the strong bonds between Pakistan and Azerbaijan and expressed keen interest in advancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors. He emphasized the importance of fostering ties, promoting bilateral exchanges, and enhancing people-to-people contacts to further deepen the relations between the two brotherly nations.

Minister Mukhtar Babayev highlighted the necessity for expanding bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, particularly in tourism and culture.

President Zardari was extended an invitation to participate in COP29, scheduled to be held in Baku in November 2024.
