CULTURE 17 January 2024 - 20:38
Russia will host exhibition “The Time of Lermontov. Great poet in Azerbaijani culture".
The grand opening ceremony of the exhibition “The Time of Lermontov. A great poet in the Azerbaijani culture” dedicated to the 210th anniversary of Mikhail Lermontov was held in “Azerbaijan” pavilion at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre in Russia’s capital Moscow, Report informs.
The exhibition was organised by the management of “Azerbaijan” pavilion.
For the first time, visitors will see a previously unknown lifetime portrait of the poet, which, through the efforts of the “The Time of Lermontov” Regional Public Organisation and a private collector, was returned from the US to Russia.
Guests will see author’s etchings on paper and fabric based on illustrations by Russian painter Vrubel and art objects dedicated to the heroes of Lermontov’s works in the exposition of the special multimedia hall “Improvisation”.
A unique art object with illustrations of Lermontov’s oriental fairy tale “Ashik-Kerib”, written by the poet based on the Azerbaijani version of the folk tale of the same name about a wandering singer, creates a special atmosphere in the improvisation hall.
The interior of the literary salon of the first third of the 19th century, decorated with furniture of that era, copies of portraits of members of the Lermontov family and landscapes painted by the poet, lithographs and books of the 19th century, stylisation of clothing of members of the Lermontov family, made by historical fashion reenactor Elena Potapova, were recreated in the hall of the exhibition “The Time of Lermontov”.
A special gift to the audience is the exhibition of the People's Artist of Russia, world-famous sculptor Burganov, dedicated to the classical poet of Russian literature.
