Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have hailed a high level of fraternal ties.
Speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament Sahiba Gafarova met with a delegation led by First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, the Press and Public Relations Department of the Azerbaijani parliament told Caliber.Az.
Having welcomed the Uzbek delegation, Gafarova expressed gratification with the high level of friendly and fraternal relations between the two peoples. She noted that the visit of such a big Uzbek delegation to Azerbaijan testifies to the high level of relations.
The sides emphasised that cooperation in the political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres is dynamically developing between the two countries.
The views on the upcoming snap presidential elections in Azerbaijan scheduled for February 7 were exchanged at the meeting.
In turn, Saidov expressed gratitude for the hospitality and noted the importance of further development of relations between the parliaments of the two countries.
Head of the Azerbaijani parliament’s working group on the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan inter-parliamentary relations Eldar Ibrahimov, head of the Civil Service and HR Department of the Azerbaijani parliament Farid Hajiyev and other officials attended the meeting.
