NATO trying to push Russia out of South Caucasus - analyst
REGION 20 April 2024 - 14:50
"Russia's fears are justified because the EU has shown itself over the past two and a half years as a political wing of NATO. In addition, Germany's power within the EU is rapidly diminishing, and this place is being filled by France, which has simultaneously lost its huge colonial kingdom in Africa."
Stevan Gajić, a researcher at the Institute of European Studies, said this in a conversation with Armenian media, commenting on the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman that Moscow is waiting for a clear reaction from Armenia following the leak of information about military-political agreements with the US and the EU at a meeting in Brussels, Caliber.Az says.
"We see that there is a certain retreat of Russia in the South Caucasus. That is, the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Karabakh - it certainly cannot be called a victory. And I think that the European Union, including, in fact, NATO, is trying to seize the moment and push Russia out of this region. But these assumptions of the Russian Foreign Ministry are absolutely justified because everything speaks only in this favor," he said.
According to the political analyst, Pashinyan is hiding a lot of things from his people.
"We will learn about the outcome of the meeting in Brussels by its consequences. We see that Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan hides a lot of things from his people. At the same time, he makes a lot of unpleasant surprises for Armenia. I think that the worst thing is to get in touch with France, which at the same time is losing its colonial kingdom in Africa, or rather, has almost lost it. France is just trying to make Russia look bad," Stevan Gajić said.
