Armenia, Azerbaijan reach historic agreement at negotiating table

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has hailed a significant breakthrough in diplomatic relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, announcing that the two nations have successfully resolved a longstanding border issue through negotiations for the first time.

"I wouldn't want us to overestimate what happened, but I also wouldn't want us to underestimate. It is very important to state that for the first time Armenia and Azerbaijan have resolved the issue at the negotiating table," Pashinyan remarked to journalists, reflecting on the recent agreement, Caliber.Az reports.

The agreement, disclosed by the Armenian Foreign Ministry on April 19, entails the return of four villages located in Gazakh district to Azerbaijan. These villages, which were originally part of Soviet Azerbaijan, had come under Armenian control during military conflicts in the early 1990s.
