Azerbaijani, Kazakh top diplomats discuss strategic partnership

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu during his working visit to Kazakhstan on May 10.

The Foreign Ministry informed Caliber.Az that the meeting discussed issues of strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, the situation in the region in the post-conflict period, and the current state of the peace process.

The sides expressed satisfaction with Azerbaijan's high-level relations with Central Asian nations, in particular with Kazakhstan. Broad prospects of cooperation in economy, trade, investments, energy security, transport, and communications and cooperation within regional and international platforms, including the Organisation of Turkic States, were underscored.

Jeyhun Bayramov informed the interlocutor in detail about preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Azerbaijan this year, noting that COP29 could become a new platform for cooperation.

Speaking about the current situation, opportunities, and challenges in the region in the post-conflict period, Jeyhun Bayramov thanked Kazakhstan for its support and activity in promoting the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia in a bilateral format. He expressed confidence that against the background of the recent agreement between the delimitation commissions, today's talks will contribute to the peace process.
