Reps of Economic Cooperation Organization inspect “shot monuments” in Shusha
KARABAKH 18 May 2022 - 14:37
Participants of the third conference of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Economic Cooperation Organization (PA ECO) have visited the executed monuments of Khurshidbanu Natavan, Uzeyir Hajibeyli, and Bulbul in Shusha.
Well-known French photographer of Azerbaijani origin Reza Deghati informed the participants of the event about the "shot sculptures", according to Report.
Delegations headed by the secretary-general of the PA ECO, and the chairmen of the parliaments of Turkiye, Pakistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan are presently on a visit to Azerbaijan.
Monuments of great Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli, poetess Khurshudbanu Natavan, and singer Bulbul suffered seriously from the Armenian cultural vandalism when Shusha was occupied in 1992. They were illegally transferred to Armenia after the capture of Shusha and then were purchased by the Azerbaijani authorities, brought to Baku and placed in the courtyard of the Museum of Art.
