24 September 2024 11:22

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with his Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

During the talks, Mirzoyan stated that Armenia is poised to finalize a peace agreement with Azerbaijan as soon as possible, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

“The steps taken by Armenia towards the establishment of peace in the South Caucasus were mentioned. Minister Mirzoyan underscored that Armenia has a clear position and political will to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan in a short period of time, as demonstrated by Armenia's recent proposal regarding the draft agreement,” the statement of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reads.

Mirzoyan further emphasised that “Armenia's vision of ensuring stability in the region is based on unconditional respect for territorial integrity, principles of inviolability of borders, as well as initiatives aimed at ensuring economic interconnectivity.”
