Defence minister, US officials observe Armenian-American drills

Armenia and the US carried out "Eagle Partner 2023" drills, conducted within the framework of preparation for participation in international peacekeeping missions on September 15.

Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikian, US Ambassador to Armenia Christine Quinn, First Deputy Defence Minister Maj Gen Edward Asryan, Deputy Chief of Staff of US Army Forces in Europe and Africa for Operations Brig Gen Patrick Ellis, Commander of the 10th Mountain Division Maj Gen Gregory Anderson, and foreign military attachés and representatives accredited in Armenia observed the drills at the "Zar" training centre of the peacekeeping brigade, Caliber.Az reports with reference to Armenian media.

"Then the head of the defence ministry and the guests were presented with the exercise control centre, re-equipped classrooms where scenarios are developed and decisions are made,” the Armenian Defence Ministry said.

At the end of the visit, the commander of the peacekeeping brigade presented to the guests the participation of the Armenian Armed Forces peacekeeping troops in peacekeeping missions in a number of countries, emphasising the high cooperation with the peacekeepers of the US army in these areas, the report says.
