Russia, Türkiye continue efforts to establish gas hub
Russia's First Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin has said that Russia and Türkiye continue their efforts to establish a gas hub that will be mutually beneficial.
"We are working in this direction. We have very close, strong relations with our Turkish colleagues. Right now, we are structuring the work to ensure it is mutually beneficial and creates favourable conditions for both consumers and producers," Sorokin said on the sidelines of the Istanbul Energy Forum, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
The first Istanbul Energy Forum officially opened in Türkiye on November 22.
Organised by Türkiye's Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources with media partnership from the Anadolu Agency, this year's forum focuses on "Shared Future, Shared Goals."
Azerbaijan is represented at the event by the country’s Minister of Energy, Parviz Shahbazov. His visit to Istanbul was made at the invitation of Turkey's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar.
The high-ranking officials responsible for the energy sector from various countries, representatives of both local and international civil society, scholars, and business leaders attended the forum. Besides regional and international topics such as regional energy sector goals, Türkiye's role in ensuring natural gas supply security, and financing energy transformation, there will be discussions on issues related to energy sources, technological advancements, and various other topics. The forum will also provide an opportunity for global-level dialogue.
