Iranian Basij commander killed in reported terrorist attack

Abdolraouf Eshaqi, commander of the Basij Resistance District in Parud, in Iran’s Rask County, was killed in what Iranian authorities described as a terrorist attack.

Security forces were pursuing those responsible for the attack, Iran International reports.

The Basij is a paramilitary organisation under Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and is one of the force’s five branches.
