Russia accuses IAEA of avoiding Kyiv blame over Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant

IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi continues to avoid directly acknowledging Kyiv’s responsibility for attacks on infrastructure at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) and the deaths of its employees, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

Her remarks were published in a commentary on the Russian Foreign Ministry’s website.

“...Grossi continues, with persistence worthy of a better cause, to evade directly acknowledging Kyiv’s responsibility for the reckless attacks...” Zakharova said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly accused Ukraine of carrying out attacks on the ZNPP, which has been under Russian control since 2022.
