Finnish companies not to return to Russia soon
Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen has said that Finnish companies will probably not return to Russia in the coming years.
She indicated that after the end of the military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Finnish businesses will not be among the first to decide to return to the Russian market.
"The end of the war in Ukraine is not in sight and Finnish companies will not return to do business in Russia next month or next year. Who knows what will happen in a few years. But Finnish companies are unlikely to be the first to return to Russia," Ms. Valtonen said in an interview with the RND media group.
The Finnish Foreign Minister also noted that compared to such countries as Germany, Greece, Italy and Austria, Finland has much less interconnection with the Russian economy.
According to a study by the Center for Strategic Research, 80% of Finnish organizations have announced their departure from Russia by September 2022.
