Latvia to hold NATO exercises

The Namejs 2024 military exercises will be held in Latvia from September 3 to October 8.

Troops from several NATO member states will participate in these exercises, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

Approximately 11,000 military personnel from Latvia and other NATO member states, including the US, Estonia, Lithuania, and Canada, will be involved. The drills, organised by the Latvian National Armed Forces in collaboration with the Headquarters Multinational Division “North” will include rapid reaction forces and various alliance staff representatives.

The exercises aim to test and refine mobilisation mechanisms and continue making efforts to strengthen the national border. The Namejs exercises have been held in Latvia since 2014.
