Russian, Swedish embassy, Saudi Arabia condole over terrorist attack on Azerbaijani embassy in Iran

"We are shocked by the news of an armed attack on the Azerbaijani Embassy in Tehran, resulting in the death of security officer Asgarov Orkhan Rizvan oglu," the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan stated on Twitter.

"We deeply condole with our Azerbaijani colleagues and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We hope that this tragic incident will be investigated thoroughly and the perpetrators will be punished," the tweet says, according to Caliber.Az.

The Swedish embassy has condemned the armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran.

"The Swedish Embassy is appalled by the attack on the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran. We express our deepest condolences to the family of Orkhan Asgarov and wish a swift recovery to those wounded," Caliber.Az reports citing the Facebook post of the embassy.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has also decried the armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran. According to Report, the Saudi Arabian Foreign Ministry said:

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia strongly condemns the armed attack on the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tehran, the capital of Iran, which resulted in one death and several injuries. The Ministry reaffirms the Kingdom's solidarity with the Republic of Azerbaijan and its friendly people at this difficult time, and calls for respect for the inviolability of diplomatic missions and punishment of the perpetrators."
