Armenian defence chief inspects military units to improve army
REGION 01 February 2023 - 18:04
Armenian Defence Minister Suren Papikyan has written that he would make unexpected visits to military units to check the level of military service and discipline.
He made the statement on his social media platform, Caliber.Az reports citing the Armenian media.
“Visits to all military units have started. The visits will be periodic and unexpected. The purpose of unexpected visits is to review the military service, the discipline and morale of the military personnel, living conditions, the military equipment on the front line and the engineering work,” Papikyan wrote.
During the visits, the Armenian minister also intends to talk directly to the soldiers, and listen to their problems.
“Those responsible will be severely punished in case of revealing indifference to military service, hazing, insufficient level of discipline,” the minister noted.
He noted that the incidents related to inappropriate attitudes, negligence and lack of discipline should be completely excluded.
“This year should be the year of correcting mistakes, painstaking work and improving the army,” he added.
The Armenian defence minister visited one of the units, reviewed the process of organising the military service, and practical training at the shooting range, and talked to the servicemen on February 1.
