How Uzbekistan became Armenia's "ally" in CSTO?
Failure of Yerevan's propaganda
REGION 19 May 2023 - 17:21
Resentment against the whole world for inattention to the “centuries-old aspirations” of the Armenian people and the belief in one’s own importance and exclusivity sometimes go sideways to the notion of the most “long-suffering” nation, which often turns into ridicule.
Once again, the Armenian propaganda media, which took offence at Uzbekistan, got caught in an absurd story.
The fact is that in an interview with the Azerbaijani media, Uzbek Deputy Transport Minister Abdusamat Muminov said that Tashkent supports Azerbaijan's initiative to launch the Zangazur corridor. According to him, thanks to this project, the transportation of Uzbek goods through the territory of Azerbaijan will increase significantly.
And then the Armenians were offended. So much so that they dashed off an angry article in which they poured out all their bile on Uzbekistan. Yes, that's bad luck - in their anger, they got so carried away that they agreed to write down Uzbekistan not just as a member of the CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organisation), but also as an ally of Armenia.
It is evident that, firstly, the fighters of Armenian propaganda forgot that Uzbekistan does not even have its own embassy in Yerevan. Secondly, Uzbekistan has not been a member of the CSTO for many years and cannot be an ally of Armenia. Thirdly, Uzbekistan has always and invariably supported the fair position of Azerbaijan. It cannot be otherwise – the two countries remain Turks.
Some time later, the unfortunate scribbler nevertheless suggested that they made a mistake, and the editors began to cover their tracks feverishly.
So Muminov turned out to be the Deputy Transport Minister of an observer country in the EAEU and once an "ally" of Armenia in the CSTO. Yes, that's bad luck - Google remembers everything. Therefore, who now needs such corrections if it has already fallen flat on its face?
