Armenian PM hopes for establishing good relations with Azerbaijan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that the authorities want the residents of the Armenian border villages to feel safe knowing that Azerbaijani people are near.

Pashinyan made these remarks at a meeting with residents of Kirants village of the Tavush (Tovuzgala) district, Caliber.Az reports citing the Armenian media.

The footage from the meeting dedicated to the border delimitation and demarcation process with Azerbaijan was posted on the prime minister’s social networks.

“We would like the Armenian people to say that it is good that Azerbaijan is 50 metres away, we will engage in trade there. A checkpoint may also be built through which cars will pass and car drivers will pay the fees to the Republic of Armenia,” Pashinyan said.

As for the security guarantees, Pashinyan said that he can not give full guarantees but step by step, full guarantees will be made.
