Poland scrambles combat aircraft in response to Russian aviation activity
The Polish Armed Forces, in coordination with their allies, have launched combat aircraft in response to heightened activity by Russian long-range aviation.
The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces made this announcement on official X account, Caliber.Az reports via Russian sources.
The statement by the Operational Command reads: " The Operational Command of the Armed Forces is observing intense long-range aviation activity of the Russian Federation tonight, related to air and missile strikes on objects located in the territory of Ukraine.
All necessary procedures to ensure the safety of Polish airspace have been launched, and DO RSZ is monitoring the situation on an ongoing basis.
We warn that Polish and allied aircraft have been activated, which may result in increased noise levels, especially in the southeastern part of the country.”
This action marks the second time in recent weeks that Poland has taken such measures, with a similar response occurring on June 22.
