NATO’s outgoing chief: Chinese, Russian leaders want US to fail in Ukraine
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin aim for NATO and the US to fail in Ukraine.
“The war in Ukraine illustrates the strong alignment among Russia, China, North Korea, and Iran. China is the primary supporter of Russia's aggressive actions in Ukraine. Both President Xi and President Putin want NATO and the US to fail in Ukraine. If Putin succeeds in Ukraine, it will embolden not only him but also President Xi. As the Japanese Prime Minister remarked, what is happening in Ukraine today could happen in Asia tomorrow,” Caliber.Az reports citing outgoing NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s interview with the foreign media.
“This demonstrates that NATO is crucial for the United States, especially in addressing challenges from China. The United States is a significant power on its own, but NATO provides something unique: the support of over 30 friends and allies. The US constitutes 25 per cent of the world's GDP. Combined with NATO allies, this figure doubles to 50 per cent, representing half of the world's economic and military strength. Thus, the United States is stronger in addressing China when working together with NATO,” Stoltenberg added.
On February 24, 2022, Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine. This special military operation has led to widespread devastation, a major humanitarian crisis, and significant geopolitical consequences. The invasion marked a dramatic escalation in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, resulting in significant military, economic, and humanitarian consequences. The situation remains dynamic, with ongoing efforts to find a diplomatic resolution and support Ukraine's defence and recovery.
