UNDP supports Azerbaijan's projects to combat climate change

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) supports Azerbaijan's projects aimed at providing assistance on climate change, and possible risks, as well as achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Deputy Permanent Coordinator of UNDP in Azerbaijan Charu Bista made the remarks at the international conference "Fluctuations of the Caspian Sea level in the conditions of climate change, forecasts and adaptation measures" being held in Baku, Report informs.

She thanked the Azerbaijani government for actively working to achieve the SDGs and transition to renewable energy sources.

"We may all face an uncertain future due to climate change. It is known that the Caspian Sea is a unique reservoir in this region and the world, but in recent years the water level in it has been decreasing. Coastal states have an impact on the state of the Caspian Sea today. We all have to work together to solve this problem," said Bista.
