Armenia, Cyprus deepen defence collaboration
The defence ministers of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, and Cyprus, Vasilis Palmas, engaged in discussions over enhanced defence cooperation during a recent telephone conversation, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
The conversation, which took place on June 28, included deliberations on various aspects related to the upcoming official visit of Cyprus's Defence Minister to Armenia.
Highlighting the progress made, last year's discussions during Defense Minister Papikyan's visit to Cyprus with his counterpart Michalis Yorgallas laid the groundwork for an expanded partnership. Agreements were reached to intensify collaboration through comprehensive training programs, knowledge exchange in diverse fields, military-technical cooperation, and other mutual interests.
Furthermore, in November of the previous year, Armenia, Greece, and Cyprus conducted trilateral joint exercises in the Nea Peramos region of Attica involving special forces and special operations units.
