Azerbaijan creates digital twin of Shusha city
Adviser to the chairman of energy operator Azerishiq company for innovation and 3D mobile maps, Elshan Musayev, has said that a 3D map of Azerbaijan’s Shusha city has been created through the company’s special software.
Musayev made these remarks at the TEKNOFEST Azerbaijan Aerospace and Technology Festival in Baku, according to Report.
He noted that today, none of the participants of the TEKNOFEST festival has the technologies which are used by Azerishiq.
“The entire territory, the streets of Shusha were scanned through a special device and plotted on a 3D map. We have a 360 degree city view. Our equipment Leica Pegasus 2 Ultimate makes 1 million dots per second. Entire Shusha is displayed as a point cloud and a panorama. This means that we have created a digital twin of this city (Digital tweening). There will be no need to visit Shusha tomorrow because of some construction or design work. We can show statistics data to any investor through Application Programming Interface (API),” adviser noted.
He added that the new technology reduces costs, optimizes and makes business transparent.
“The president has recently raised the issue of registration of facilities in Zangilan District. It is possible to see the entire infrastructure of any territory thanks to this technology. Pillars, buildings and other facilities are easily registered. The most important thing is that we see where the facility is situated. Google has never displayed Azerbaijan’s accurate map. There are no such exact coordinates as we have. 3D maps of Zagatala, Gabala, Ganja, Guba, Khachmaz and Khirdalan have been created. Azerishiq is gradually doing this work. When implementing the project at the first stage, we used the experience of foreign experts,” adviser said.
“Today, Azerishiq employees are involved in this process,” Musayev added.
