Azerbaijan, Japan discuss revival of Shusha PHOTO
Azerbaijani President’s special representative in the Shusha district Aydin Karimov visited Japan’s Kyoto city as part of his visit to Japan on August 8.
In Kyoto, Karimov met with the city mayor, president of the League of Historical Cities Daisaku Kadokawa, Caliber.Az reports.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on further strengthening ties and cooperation between Shusha and Kyoto, which are members of the League of Historic Cities and have rich history and culture.
Kadokawa noted that he was aware of the restoration and construction works carried out in Karabakh, particularly in Shusha, and highly appreciated the steps taken in the post-conflict period, the work done for the return of IDPs to their native lands.
In turn, Karimov invited Kadokawa to visit Shusha.
Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Japan Gursel Ismayilzada also attended the meeting.
At the meeting of the General Assembly of the League of Historic Cities held on November 14-16, 2022 in Andong, South Korea, it was announced that the city of Shusha would join the League.
