Georgia arrests three suspected members of transnational crime ring

Georgia's State Security Service (SSG) has arrested three foreign nationals, members of a transnational crime ring, in Tbilisi on suspicion of illegally selling firearms and ammunition.

The SSG said the arrests were carried out during an attempted weapons transaction, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.

Searches of the suspects' vehicles, rented apartments, and personal belongings led to the seizure of firearms, ammunition, electronic devices, and a substance believed to be narcotics.

According to the SSG, investigators also found photos and videos on the confiscated electronic devices linked to various criminal activities, including the sale of a large quantity of drugs.

The investigation is ongoing to identify other members of the criminal network. If convicted, the suspects face up to nine years in prison.
