Georgia tourism revenue falls 2% amid weaker Middle Eastern demand

Occupancy at major branded hotels in Georgia rose to 58% in the first half of 2026, but the country’s tourism revenue declined by 2% year on year to $1.93 billion, according to a TBC Capital study.

The financial organization said hotel occupancy increased by 4 percentage points compared with the same period last year, with the most notable growth recorded in January and May, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.

The average room rate reached $134, up by around 7% year on year.

The main reason for the decline in tourism revenue was weaker demand from Middle Eastern markets.
