Great Return: Lachin's Beylik village welcomes returnees with keys to new private houses UPDATED

Another group of Azerbaijani former internally displaced persons, who departed Baku this morning, has arrived in the Beylik village in the Lachin district.

Keys to new private houses were handed over to 41 families, totalling 163 people, resettled at this stage, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Special Representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Lachin district and the State Committee for Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons.

Currently, more than 40,000 people live in Karabakh and East Zangezur. In addition to former internally displaced persons, this group includes individuals working on projects in the region, as well as those carrying out official duties in local branches of certain government bodies, engaged in the resumed operations of institutions in healthcare, education, culture, tourism, industry, and energy sectors.

Another group of Azerbaijani former internally displaced persons has departed for the Beylik village in the Lachin district.

At this stage, 41 families comprising 163 people are returning to their native village, Caliber.Az reports.

The resettlement process is being carried out in stages and in line with the Great Return program, aimed at restoring normal life in the liberated areas and ensuring the dignified and voluntary return of displaced Azerbaijani citizens to their ancestral lands.

On May 27, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of the Beylik village in Lachin district, unveiling modern infrastructure and new homes for 90 families under “First State Program on the Great Return to the Liberated Territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan.”

As part of the Great Return program, large-scale construction projects are underway in Lachin, including in Beylik village.
