Increasing number of US citizens seeking to relocate due to instability
An increasing number of US citizens are considering relocating due to political instability.
Managing Director of Henley & Partners Basil Mohr-Elzeki noted that since 2020, the overall number of inquiries about moving has surged by 500 per cent, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Co-founder of Expatsi company Jen Barnett has said that a survey conducted by the company in October revealed that 7,000 Americans are interested in emigrating.
One of the primary factors influencing their relocation plans is the political divide within society. Artur Saraiva, co-founder of Global Citizen Solutions, emphasised that the upcoming presidential election in the US play a significant role in the decisions of these Americans.
The US presidential election is set for November 5, 2024, with the winning candidate poised to serve a four-year term beginning in January 2025.
In the Republican Party, ex-president Donald Trump has secured a commanding lead over his competitors, ultimately becoming the official nominee at the party convention held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Trump has selected Ohio Senator JD Vance as his vice-presidential running mate.
On the Democratic side, Vice-President Kamala Harris has entered the race following President Joe Biden's withdrawal, with no other Democratic contenders emerging against her. Harris has chosen Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.
