Iran’s president briefs Belarusian counterpart on US negotiations
30 April 2026 15:54
Masoud Pezeshkian, President of Iran, held a telephone conversation with Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, on April 30 at the initiative of the Iranian side.
During the call, Pezeshkian briefed Lukashenko on the situation in the Persian Gulf region and outlined the position of official Tehran in its negotiations with the United States.
Both leaders agreed that the primary obstacle to reaching peaceful agreements remains a lack of trust between the parties.
Lukashenko stressed the country’s interest in achieving a swift resolution to the conflict, while Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to the Belarusian leader for what he described as a principled and consistent stance.
