Karabakh’s development earns diplomatic commendation in Lachin visit PHOTO
Foreign diplomats accredited in Azerbaijan, including military attachés and representatives of international organisations, visited the city of Lachin on June 20.
During the visit, several ambassadors expressed admiration for the scale and pace of reconstruction underway in the region.
Serbia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Dragan Vladislavlevic, shared his impressions with local media, highlighting the dramatic transformation Lachin has undergone since his last visit, Caliber.Az reports.
“Lachin is an amazing place, and what is even more amazing is that since my last visit, there have been massive changes. My last visit was a year and a half ago, and it is simply incredible how much has been built here. We flew into this new airport today. I am truly proud of this country and its development,” he said.
Ambassador Vladislavlevic noted this was his fourth visit to Lachin and expressed anticipation about the next stops on the diplomatic tour.
“Tomorrow we will visit Shusha and Aghdam. I was in Aghdam three years ago and am looking forward to seeing the changes that have taken place there. Every time I come here [to the liberated territories], it is difficult to recognise the places I have seen before — everything around me is changing, becoming new, bigger, better and truly beautiful," he added.
Libya’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ali Salem Nasser, also shared his positive impressions of the visit and reaffirmed the strong bilateral ties between the two countries.
“Our countries have had excellent relations since 1995. We are making every effort to develop them,” he said. He praised the rapid pace of reconstruction and infrastructure development across the Karabakh region.
Belarusian Ambassador Dmitry Pinevich emphasised his country’s involvement in Azerbaijan’s infrastructure initiatives, noting Belarus’s contributions to industrial development.
“We are participating in the development of industry,” Pinevich stated. He also expressed personal satisfaction with his visit to Lachin. “I am very happy to be here, in a city that combines so many elements,” he said.
