Media: Iran using criminals to attack Israelis in Europe
Iran uses members of criminal gangs for its own purposes to carry out attacks against Israelis in Europe.
In this way, the Iranian leadership can deny its involvement in these attacks by presenting them as ordinary criminal offences, Caliber.Az reports, citing Israeli media.
Local intelligence services are aware of such activities of Iran, and there are recorded cases when they warned the alleged victims of assassination attempts. It is not excluded that the information came from the Israeli intelligence services, which chose not to comment on the investigation.
In at least one case, Israelis living in France had to leave for their home country, and when they returned to Europe, they had changed several places of residence.
In order to cover their tracks, terrorist cells in Europe are involved in “ordering” attacks. Contacts of extensive criminal networks, including drug traffickers, are used to transmit messages. The perpetrators are criminal elements.
It is noted that Iran's history of cooperation with criminal groups for terrorist purposes goes back at least a decade. However, in the past, the victims were mainly members of the Iranian opposition and groups fighting Iran.
