Official: Reconstruction work in Karabakh continues at full scale
Reconstruction works in Karabakh continue at full scale, Azerbaijani President’s special representative in Jabrayil, Gubadli, and Zangilan districts Vahid Hajiyev said.
According to him, the long-term plan of the Azerbaijani government is the development of the entire Karabakh region, Report informs.
"We work purposefully in this connection,” he added.
He also stressed that the rehabilitation program of the liberated territories is based on the Sustainable Development Goals.
Currently, work is underway to restore Azerbaijan's liberated lands. Azerbaijan will rebuild its recently liberated areas in four stages. The initial stage includes the solution to the issues of governance and security, and infrastructure. In contrast, the subsequent stages include the solution to the issues of social services activities, reconstruction, and development of the economy.
In 2021 and 2022, the Azerbaijani government allocated a total of 4.9 billion manats, or nearly $2.8 billion to the large-scale reconstruction and restoration activities in the liberated lands.
The Azerbaijani government launched major infrastructure projects in the Karabakh and East Zangazur regions shortly after they were liberated from nearly three decades of Armenian occupation during a 44-day war in 2020.
