Polish president arrives in Armenia for meetings with top officials

25 November 2024 21:11

Polish President Andrzej Duda has arrived in Armenia.

During his visit, President Duda will hold talks with President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan followed by delegation-level negotiations, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.

President Duda will also meet with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan.

Poland and Armenia established diplomatic relations on February 26, 1992, with the formal procedures completed by November 1992. The Armenian Embassy in Warsaw was inaugurated on April 6, 1998, while the Polish Embassy in Yerevan opened on February 28, 2000.

The first high-level official visit from Poland to Armenia took place in November 2001, when Polish President Aleksander Kwaśniewski met with Armenian President Robert Kocharyan. Since then, political cooperation has progressed smoothly.
