Russia to lift COVID-related border restrictions from July 15
The Operational Headquarters for Preventing the Spread of Coronavirus Infection has said that Russia will lift border restrictions, imposed earlier due to COVID-19, from July 15, 2022.
“Russia will remove land border restrictions, which were introduced in connection with the spread of COVID-19 in 2020, from July 15, 2022,” the Headquarters told Russia’s Izvestia newspaper.
Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights (Rospotrebnadzor) Anna Popova signed a resolution on July 1 to lift the restrictions imposed due to COVID-19.
Mandatory mask requirements were also removed. A ban on the activity of catering facilities at night and a number of other restrictions were also lifted.
The decision was made in connection with the decrease in COVID-19 cases in the country over the past four months.
