“Over the last week, three additional PKK terrorists surrendered. Ground search-and-scan operations continued along our borders and outside them, including the detection and destruction of caves, hideouts, shelters, mines, and improvised explosive devices,” Aktürk said.
He added that the length of tunnels destroyed in areas of Turkish operations in Syria has now reached 725 kilometres, including 302 kilometres in Tel Rifaat and 423 kilometres in Manbij.
The ministry also reported intensified measures against illegal border crossings. Over the past week, Turkish forces detained 205 individuals, among them six members of terrorist organisations attempting to cross into the country illegally. Another 428 people were prevented from crossing the border.
Since January 1, a total of 8,999 individuals have been detained while attempting to cross Türkiye’s borders unlawfully, and 59,458 have been prevented from doing so.
