Türkiye urges continued peace efforts in Ukraine conflict

Ankara considers the continuation of diplomatic initiatives aimed at securing a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine as essential, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated following talks in Ankara with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

“We consider it important to continue diplomatic efforts toward a just and lasting settlement of the war between Russia and Ukraine,” Erdoğan said, underscoring Türkiye’s support for sustained dialogue as the key path to ending the ongoing conflict, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.

During their meeting, Erdoğan and Merz reportedly discussed bilateral relations, regional stability, and the broader implications of the Ukraine conflict for Europe’s security architecture.
